Clay Aiken was in the African nation of Somalia on Wednesday where he appealed to the world to not forget the country where conflict and hunger have created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. Clay traveled to the nation as a UN goodwill ambassador. Clay went on to say that the US and international interest in Somalia had been minimal since several failed military intervention in the early 90s. Clay said “There hasn’t been much discussion of Somalia since the early 1990s in the U.S. The American population kind of got a bad taste of Somalia in the early 90’s and hasn’t really had much interest in the country since.” Let’s hope someone listens to Clay and give to the good cause.

Kate Moss is seeking advice from Jerry Springer.

Kate, 34, has been talking with the US TV talk show host while he has been in London. The pair have been meeting at the Dorchester hotel where Kate has been discussing her fears for her friend, actor Rhys Ifans, who recently split with Kate’s rival Sienna Miller.

A source said: “She’s got a lot on her mind and she tends to take on her friends’ problems and concerns as well. Jerry has patiently listened to her worries and given her some sterling advice. Instead of hating Sienna for upsetting her friend, Kate has managed to see things from her perspective and has calmed down about the whole, sorry affair. This unlikely therapy has turned her into a new woman.”

Kate was said to be “beside herself” after learning of the split between Rhys and Sienna, as it reminded her of her own painful separation from troubled rocker Pete Doherty last year.

In the aftermath of the break-up, Rhys stayed at Kate’s house to seek her advice about what to do. Kate previously warned Sienna she would “have an enemy for life” if she hurt Rhys.

Janet Jackson will start trying for a baby after her tour. The ‘Together Again’ singer and record producer Jermaine Dupri - who have been dating since 2002 - are eager to start a family once Janet’s run of shows finishes later this year.

When asked if the couple want to have children, Jermaine replied: “Yeah, soon. Right after the tour.”

Jermaine - who has a daughter, Shaniah, from a previous relationship - believes Janet, 42, will make a fantastic mother and he can’t wait to start trying for a family.

He added: “It really doesn’t matter if we have a boy or a girl. Janet would be a great mom. She was around so many brothers and sisters all her life, so she’s got to know what that is like. And her mom is a great mother.”

Jermaine also revealed Janet is a good listener and offers him her full support whenever he needs it. He explained: “The greatest thing in life is just to have a friend. When I have problems in life, I share them with her. When she has a problem, she comes to me.”

It has been claimed the couple are planning to secretly marry in an intimate ceremony in France early next year.

A source said: “They want a very simple wedding in Paris with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop. The wedding won’t be extravagant, but they do want their families and friends to be there.”

Madonna will split from husband Guy Ritchie at the end of her forthcoming world tour, it has been claimed. The ‘4 Minutes’ singer and the film director have reportedly decided to end their seven-year marriage but will not make an announcement until her ‘Sticky and Sweet’ tour finishes in Mexico on November 29.

A source close to the couple – who raise three children together, Lourdes, 11, Rocco, seven, and two-year-old David – said: “Although the marriage is coming to an end, they don’t want to say anything until the tour is over. They live like brother and sister rather than husband and wife and thought it best to call it a day. There’s been speculation about them having furious rows, but they have just grown apart. They’ve decided they’re better off as friends. It’s sad, but they’re determined to keep it amicable.”

Madonna, 49, is said to be planning to split her time between her properties in London, New York and Los Angeles after the separation. Her New York apartment is being extended and renovated to accommodate her children and staff.

Madonna is also said to be devastated her brother Christopher is writing an explosive book on the singer’s sex and drug-fuelled past, something which he blames the breakdown of her marriage on.

An insider said: “Madonna is very saddened by Christopher’s behaviour. As far as she’s concerned her brother going public is the ultimate betrayal. He can’t need the money that badly.”

All I could say when I saw this story was, Ewwww!!! Seems that old washed up men get some young hot babes these days. That’s the story with Rod Stewart and his barely legal gal pal Penny Lancaster. Actually, she’s 37, but heck, he’s 63!

Lindsay Lohan got a visit at work from her alleged lesbian lover Samantha Ronson this weekend

The two couldn’t be any closer as Samantha popped on to the film set where Lindsay is currently acting in a movie called Labour Pains.

Lindsay showed off her great legs in a pair of tiny short short, while Ronson was in her usual trilby and tight toyboyish jeans and trainers.

The couple have been out for lunch in LA several times over the past, and according to some reports Lindsay has said she wants to marry the lesbian DJ.

Meanwhile, Lindsay continued to cause a stir on set. After pulling up her top to reveal her gorgeous flat stomach last week, she decided to do much needed pre-scene stretches resting one leg on a rail like a ballerina.

American Idol reject Vonzell Solomon has released a statement regarding airport security finding a gun in her bag at a Florida Airport. She says “I in no way intended to enter the plane with a firearm. I was rushing to make a scheduled flight and simply did not realize it was in my handbag until I went through security.” I have just one word for her – ridiculous. Most of us are struggling to pack no more than 3 ounces of liquid but Baby V has a Glock in her clutch. One question still remains in my mind though – what the heck was she doing with a gun in the first place?

Amy Winehouse may have tuberculosis. Doctors fear her symptoms of coughing up blood, weight loss and lack of appetite point toward the deadly disease – more commonly known as TB. The 24-year-old has been in hospital on a drip since she collapsed at home on Monday.

A friend of the ‘Back to Black’ singer said: “Amy is in a bad way. Doctors are still struggling to control her irregular heartbeat but the chest condition has been really worrying them. She has been suffering horrible coughing fits and hurling up blood for a while but refused to be examined. Doctors now believe it is tuberculosis and are doing more tests to be certain.”

Amy’s family and friends hope the diagnosis could shock Amy into quitting drugs for good. The pal added: “Things sound really bad but at least now they have found something specific it will be easier to keep her in hospital and free from drugs. The word tuberculosis might frighten her into getting herself well. It certainly should do. She needs to realise she will die if she doesn’t clean up her act.”

Amy is scheduled to play Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday concert in London and the Glastonbury festival in Somerset this month. Her spokesperson said the singer still plans to honour the commitments – but only if doctors will let her. The spokesperson said: “At present she still intends to perform at her two scheduled dates next week. However the decision will be made entirely on the advice of her doctors and in her best interests. Amy has undergone more scans and tests and we are awaiting the verdict of her doctors.”

Tuberculosis is transmitted by droplets in the air, and is usually more common in developing countries. Drug addicts, alcoholics and those with poor diets are more susceptible to the disease because of their reduced immune systems.

TB requires six months of medication and if left untreated attacks most organs, resulting in likely death.

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have jetted to Mexico for a romantic holiday.

The couple – who made their first official public appearance last week – flew to Punta Mita on Friday  to stay at Casa Aramara, the home of ‘Girls Gone Wild’ creator Joe Francis.

Jennifer, John and a group of friends were seen relaxing on the property’s beachfront patio.A source said: “Jennifer spent time laying out on the loungers on the patio. John was always around, standing by her, making sure she was comfortable.”

This is not the first time Jennifer has used Joe’s house as a holiday home. She stayed there with platonic friend Orlando Bloom last year while they attended the wedding of a mutual friend at a nearby resort. Jennifer also stayed there with former boyfriend Vince Vaughn in summer 2006.

Before flying to Mexico, Jennifer and John went for dinner with Jennifer’s best friend Courteney Cox Arquette and her husband David Arquette.

Who would have thought that Taylor Hicks was a fan of the Jonas Brothers? The 31-year old season 5 winner of American Idol joined a crowd of screaming fans outside ABC studios in New York City before an appearance on ‘Live with Regis & Kelly’ last week holding a sign which read “The Jonas Brothers Rock My World!” Taylor was on the show promoting the Broadway production of ‘Grease’. He made his Broadway debut when he joined the cast in the role of ‘Teen Angel’ last June 6. His character is the one who sings ‘Beauty School Dropout’ to which the Idol adds his soulful flavor.

It seems that Blake Fielder-Civil has a lot of animosity toward Pete Doherty. It is being said that Amy Winehouse’s husband offered one of his jail buddies a cool $40,000 to arrange a beat down of the Babyshambles rocker. His jail buddy said “We were sitting in my cell and he said, ‘If you get Doherty for me I’ll give you £20,000 (approx US $40,000).’ He kept saying, ‘Can you arrange it?’ and telling me to get some guys to his house. It’s one thing to go to Berlin and let your hair down. But it’s a bit extreme to party so hard that your hair actually falls out.

Supermodel Kate Moss looked stunning at the beginning of the night as she hosted a party to celebrate the launch of her new perfume, Velvet Hour. But on her way back to her hotel she must have ruffled her tresses a bit too enthusiastically – and managed to yank out a hair extension.

And I always thought those luscious locks were all her own. The lucky snapper who found it on the floor looked over the moon with his find.
