Australian swimmer denies rumors
Stephanie Rice, 20 years old, is rumored to be dating the Olympics’ record holder for most number of medals won, Michael Phelps. When she was asked about the rumored romance and alleged kiss she and Phelps shared together she said, “No, it was just really great to meet him … and people that you usually see on TV, like [Rafael] Nadal and [Roger] Federer. To me Michael Phelps is a huge inspiration and someone I really look up to.”
She was also presented with commemorative underwear upon her arrival at Sydney, Australia on Tuesday.
She and her ex-boyfriend Eamon Sullivan received commemorative underwear in Sydney last Tuesday. They broke up just before the Beijing Olympics. Sullivan, though he didn’t win gold, won silver and a bronze and claimed a world record in 100m freestyle heats while Rice collected three gold in three events.
