Simon Cowell the next British Prime Minister?

Simon Cowell has been voted the celebrity most people would like to see as the British Prime Minister in a new poll.

Cowell, 49, is known around the world for his hard-hitting comments as a judge on shows such as The X Factor and American Idol.

He received 21 per cent of the votes, with Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley finishing a close second with 20 per cent.

Other celebs who made the top 10 included Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole, pop star Peter Andre, newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald and radio DJ Chris Moyles.
