Nicky Hilton clothing lines to launch in Tokyo at Girls show
Nicky Hilton’s fashion career is roaring ahead, with plans to launch in the world style capital of Tokyo.
Chick and Nicholai, two Hilton lines, will launch at the semi-annual Tokyo Girls Collection in Japan in September, according to US reports.
The bi-annual show, billed as an extravaganza and fashion festival for “real Japanese clothes”, is held in the trendy neighbourhood of Yoyogi, at the National Yoyogi Stadium.
Hilton said: “I think I got inspired in Japan a lot.”
She was spotted at the 2009 NBA Championship Victory Celebration hosted by the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I am launching at Tokyo Girls Collection, which is in an arena with 24,000 people. I have been trying to wrap it up and get the samples set out.”
The event takes a novel interactive approach. Hilton said: “The girls, actually, as the models come down the runway, are shopping, buying clothes… It’s cool.”
Hilton has launched to rave reviews at the New York Fashion Week.
