Cristiano Ronaldo fans get fever pitch
Cristiano Ronaldo’s superstar status was confirmed when a mass of 80,000 people turned out to the Bernabeu to see him welcomed into the team Real Madrid.
“To see so many people here for my presentation was very emotional. I felt the love of the people. I am ambitious and I want to adapt as quickly as possible to give my best,” Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo had to be removed from the scene when fans, desperate to get closer to their football idol ran onto the pitch.
The ceremony was stopped and security guards for the team moved to contain the crowd as excitement about the star reached fever pitch.
Real Madrid paid £80 million to have the Portuguese winger move over from Manchester United.
To celebrate the move, Ronaldo spent some time in Los Angeles partying with pals, where he was also spotted out with heiress Paris Hilton.
