Brooke Shields says Michael Jackson asked her to marry him “many times”
Brooke Shields claims that Michael Jackson asked her to marry him “many times” – but she always turned him down.
The actress, who gave one of the most moving speeches during Jackson’s memorial, now insists that they were closer than everyone had previously known.
But she insists that Jackson’s proposals were from an insecurity of losing her – and she persuaded him they never needed to be man and wife.
“There were times when he would ask me to marry him, and I would say, ‘You have me for the rest of your life, you don’t need to marry me, I’m going to go on and do my own life and have my own marriage and my own kids, and you’ll always have me,’” Brooke revealed.
“I think it made him relax. He didn’t want to lose things that meant something to him.”
