Simon Cowell is reportedly discussing a new 100 million-a-year contract to stay on American Idol

Simon Cowell is reportedly discussing a new £100 million-a-year contract to stay on American Idol – making him the highest paid star in TV history.
Simon, 49, is currently being paid £25 million each year for the show and the new deal will quadruple this and mean he will receive £2.2 million an hour on screen.
It is claimed the network makes £450 million each year from advertising on the successful show and it is deemed as the network’s key to success.
An insider at Fox said: “The word went out from on high to pay Simon what he needs. Without him the show would be a shadow of itself. And without American Idol we’re in the dumper.”
