I’m alive and well, tweets Charlie’s Angels star Jaclyn Smith
Charlie’s Angels star Jaclyn Smith has been forced to deny rumours that she tried to commit suicide – with an unusual Twitter message.
Reports from Honduras claimed the actress had been taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to her head, possibly after a failed suicide attempt.
The story spread like wildfire once gossip blogger Perez Hilton posted it on his website and sent out a link to it through Twitter.
But within minutes media in Honduras had corrected their stories to say it was the wife of one of the show’s producers who had been injured.
Over one hour later Hilton rectified his story, once Smith had posted a message on her own Twitter page. It read: “Jaclyn is safe and home with her family. She is not in Honduras. It is a lie.”
Her publicist Jay Schwartz also reportedly told TMZ.com the actress is not even in Honduras.
He said: “She is alive and well in Los Angeles … I spoke to her this morning.”
The woman who was shot has been identified by media in Honduras as Sandra Franklin.
