Harry Potter actress Helena Bonham Carter has said she finds watching herself on screen traumatic.

The 43-year-old, who will soon be seen on UK TV screens playing children’s writer Enid Blyton, admitted that she is not a fan of watching her performances back.

She said to UK newspaper Daily Record: “I never look at myself and think I look fantastic. You see everything you don’t want to see. In an hour and a half I’ll have a list of about 150 things I can’t bear about myself.

“The depression lasts for about a week then slowly wears off. I sit there on the night thinking I’ll just go off and do some rubber stamping for the rest of my life.

“It’s ridiculously self-indulgent to sit there and do the ‘look at me, I’m cr*p. I do this for other people to watch and enjoy, not me.”
