Dane Cook speaks about brother’s alleged betrayal

Comedian Dane Cook has opened up for the first time about his half brother’s alleged betrayal.
Cook’s half brother Darryl McCauley has been arrested and charged over allegations that he stole millions from the star.
Cook speaks out in the December issue of Boston magazine and in a highly emotional interview talks about what McCauley is accused of doing – and admits it is ‘hard to stomach’.
Cook tells the magazine: “The only thing that really matters, really, is family.
“The words that describe it, I gotta be really careful, but it’s betrayal.
“It’s really a word I never thought I would have to use in my life. I never thought I’d get caught out here in that kind of stuff.”
Cook and McCauley, whose mother died of cancer in 2006, grew up together and McCauley spent a decade as a corrections officer before his famous little brother began to make it big and asked him to handle his finances.
According to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, McCauley was arrested on December 30, 2008, and charged with stealing $11million from Cook’s accounts, starting in 2004.
McCauley, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, goes on trial later this month.
