US TV bosses have reportedly put together a Jamie Oliver slang dictionary so its viewers can understand his accent

US TV bosses have reportedly put together a Jamie Oliver slang dictionary so its viewers can understand his accent.
The 34-year-old is a big hit in the US but his show’s audiences have reportedly been left baffled by his accent so subtitles will be used.
After plans were announced to show his TV series, Jamie At Home, in the US, bosses at The Food Network Channel came up with the idea of putting a Guide To Jamie’s Slang online.
A Food Network spokesman said: “It is a fun way for people to learn the meanings of some of Jamie’s favourite words.”
A spokesman for Oliver added: “Most Americans would understand everything Jamie says. But it’s good to have a simple online guide for viewers who don’t know that a bachelorette party, for example, is called a hen night in the UK.”
