I may have found out the reason why Tony Romo still showed up as Jessica Simpson’s date for Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s wedding even though they broke up prior to the event. People magazine cut a $1.4 million deal for the couple’s wedding pictures but there was a certain string attached – that Jess and Tony would be there to provide a good photo op. It sounds just about right because who would pay for Ashlee alone anyway? That’s why People put an inset picture of Jessica and Tony on the cover that Ashlee and Pete were on. Jess and Tony sell. Pete and Ashlee – not so much.

Ashlee Simpson will wed Pete Wentz in a secret ceremony on Saturday. Hmm, not so secret if we know about it though, is it?

The ‘Pieces of Me’ singer and the Fall Out Boy rocker – who got engaged last month – have told guests to keep the day free although they have not let anyone know where the nuptials will take place.

A source said: “Proper invites have not been sent out but guests have been given a save the date notice.”

On Friday, close friends and family will join the couple for a rehearsal dinner. The following day, guests ‘will be transported in shuttles to the wedding location”.

Ashlee’s spokesperson has refused to confirm or deny the rumoured nuptials, saying: “This is a private matter. There is nothing to confirm.”

Ashlee Simpson can’t stop staring at her new engagement ring.

The ‘Little Miss Obsessive’ singer - who recently got engaged to Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz - loves her diamond sparkler so much she can’t stop looking at it.

She said: “It is huge! I stare at it. I’m like, ‘Oh, my god, I can’t believe this is on my hand!”

Ashlee refused to reveal specific details of how Pete popped the question.

She added: “I’m keeping that part sacred. But I will tell you it was very thoughtful and he did a great job.”

The 23-year-old singer - who again refused to comment on rumours she is expecting her first child with Wentz - laughed when US radio show host Ryan Seacrest asked her whether she drank alcohol while she was in New York this week, playfully replying: “Who knows. Maybe!”

Meanwhile, Ashlee’s father Joe is said to be already attempting to sell pictures of Ashlee and Pete’s unborn baby - for a staggering $1 million. A source close to the Simpson family told the press: “Joe is contacting all the weeklies and asking them to pay up to $1 million to put Ashlee on the cover. The deal would include photos of Ashlee - taken by Joe, of course, so he can make more money - an interview and photos of the baby when she has it.”

However, magazine editors say Joe is being “unrealistic” with the amount he expects to receive for the exclusive shots. One editor said: “The pictures will maybe fetch $60,000 maybe, but definitely not a million. Joe has an unrealistic expectation of what Ashlee can command.”

Even though there have been a lot of reports that Ashlee Simpson has gotten so drunk she’s puked at clubs on several occasions, the singer is still adamant that she wasn’t inebriated during a morning radio show appearance last week. Ashlee is fighting mad and is taking her fury to her MySpace blog to lash out at the DJ and defend her reputable honor – note the sarcasm. She says that the reason she giggled throughout the whole interview was because that’s how she deals with uncomfortable situations. She even compared how she was treated during the interview to an interview she did not even an hour after. That takes care of the giggling but what about her forgetting her own lyrics?

I knew it was a false rumor so I didn’t even bother to write it before. But for everyone who’s still wondering, Ashlee Simpson is not pregnant as she herself said so. The world is safe from her spawn – for now. The pregnancy rumor hit the internet after Ashlee and Fall Out Boy boyfriend Pete Wentz made a crazy video saying that they were having a baby to help put a stop to illegal music downloading. How anyone could take that seriously is unclear to me. Honestly folks, exercise your brain a little to make it function correctly. We already know Ashlee’s doesn’t so we don’t need to add to the craziness.
