A clergy of Austrian monks have invited Amy Winehouse to spend some time with them at their monastery.

The Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz are sort-of fans of Amy. They like the music but don’t agree with the lyrics.

“For 10 minutes I liked Back to Black, Winehouse’s 2006 album,” Brother Johannes Paul Chavanne explained. “But when I read the lyrics I thought it was sad. I would like to invite her here - I feel sympathetic to people like her. She could stay a week or two and discuss the big questions of life - faith might be an answer for her.”

The monks feel that with their proper guidance, Amy can be rehabilitated.

The collaboration makes a lot of sense. The Monks recently released their own album of Gregorian chants. Amy and the Monks both record for the same label. Amy has sourced her musical influences from the past. Maybe the sound of her next album could be sourced from 875 years in the past.

Britney Spears’ father Jamie has asked the court to allow him to give Britney an allowance. Yeah, that’s right….an allowance.

Jamie wants to give Brit a debit card loaded with $1500 a week. He wants to give her more freedom and basically give her part of her life back. Funny thing is, though, that’s $1000 less than he makes as her conservator.

Britney chose not to attend the hearing, so it’s unclear as to how she feels about this.

Lily Allen has locked herself away in fear of tumbling into drink and drug addiction.

The songbird is staying in and refusing to hit the town. She said: “I’ve been sad and quite lonely recently because if you’re young, living in London and working in this industry, unless you drink and take a lot of drugs, there’s not much to do. I’ve been sitting on my own watching TV. It’s boring to go out if everyone else is taking cocaine and shouting at me.”

Former Caner Lil, who has admitted to taking ecstasy when she was 14, said: “When I was pregnant I stopped drinking and I didn’t start again. Then when the baby was gone, I thought, ‘That doesn’t mean I’m going to go back to how I was’. ”

Meanwhile, Lily has left bosses of the Isle Of Wight Festival fuming after pulling out of the June gig. She says she wants to spend the summer working on her second album.

Some welcome relief for Amy Winehouse - she will NOT face charges connected to jailed hubby Blake’s upcoming court case over alleged assault and perverting the course of justice. The Grammy-winner voluntarily attended a police station in December. And now authorities have said no further action will be taken against her.

Meanwhile, her hubby had his first big day in court without Amy present. Having attended all his court appearances so far, Amy swerved this latest one where he pleaded not guilty.

Instead, she spent the day packing for her flight to Paris Fashion Week, where she is being paid 1,000,000 to appear at Louis Vuitton’s show.

And Blake’s mum wasn’t happy.

Living up to the dragon mother-in-law stereotype, Georgette Fielder-Civil branded the star “a disgrace” for failing to support her hubby in court. She fumed: “It’s disgusting that she couldn’t be bothered to turn up. All she had to do was get to the court and show Blake she cares. Is it that difficult?”

In all fairness Mrs Civil, if I knew you would be there I’d stay in bed too …

Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson were a couple back in 2006 after they met on the set of You, Me, and Dupree. They broke up in June 2007, and Owen attempted suicide shortly thereafter in August.

Now, people are wondering if they are getting back together. Kate was seen leaving Owen’s home in Malibu Monday afternoon. Some sources say this is actually the second time they have been spotted together.

Oops! These Hollywood kids can’t keep it together these days. This time - Redmond O’Neal.

For those of you who are saying, “Who?” Redmond is the son of actors Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett. He was arrested on January 26th for possessing heroine and cocaine and driving under the influence.

He was pulled over at approximately 3:20 am for “driving erratically” and was later released on $10,000 bail.

This is a second offense. He pleaded guilty in 2005 to charges that included meth and cocaine possession.

Queen guitarist Brian May insists he had no idea bandmate Freddie Mercury was gay, assuming the parading frontman was just flamboyant.Well, duh!

May met the late star in 1970 but claims it was not until the 1980s that he realised the frontman’s sexuality - because Mercury began to bring men with “that particular Adonis look” backstage.

He recalls, “When I shared a room with him on tour in the early days I can assure you it was girls who generally stayed overnight. But he seemed to be what these days you would call metrosexual. He was into his hair, his clothes - he definitely led the way with regard to preening.”

Many have wondered just why Dr. Phil felt the need to stick his nose into the whole Britney saga. Now he answers those questions.

“I went to see Britney at the request of her family. I talked to Lynne (her mother), I talked to Jamie (her father), I talked to Bryan, her brother. They were very frustrated that she apparently wasn’t going to be held for a longer period of time.”

Apparently Britney’s mom Lynne is close friends with Dr. Phil’s wife Robin. He has been talking with the family over the past year in an effort to help them help Britney.

Dr. Phil’s show airing Wednesday will address the Britney situation and his take on the matter.

In a further revelation to the recent happening in the Britney Spears saga; it has been revealed that ex-husband K-Fed called the cops to Britney’s house on Thursday night because he actually feared she might shoot her two sons.

The reason he thought this was because he had bought her a Beretta pistol as a birthday gift and realised it was kept at the house where the singer was staying. Is it me, or is that a really silly thing to buy for an unhinged girl like Britney?

A pal close to the warring couple said about the night in question; “”Kevin knew she was on the edge and might snap at any time. Knowing there were two firearms in the house, including the Beretta, he wasn’t taking any chances - hence the massive police response.”

Kate has an admirable resolution that many celebrity moms need to consider. She has vowed to become a better mother to her five year old daughter Lila Grace.

In fact, she’s moved into a new home in St. John’s Wood and is going to move her nanny in as well. She will have nanny Mary Davidson to do the menial labor like cooking and cleaning in an effort to allow Kate to have more time with Lila.

I have to applaud her effort because really, more celeb moms should spend some time being parents. But her parenting efforts are hiring someone to take care of them? Umm, isn’t that part of her job?

Oh well - if Lila benefits from it, it’s all good.

Pete Doherty is in need of cash and he may just be this close to getting a big pay day. It’s being reported that the musician addict is in talks to reveal all the intimate details about his drug-fueled romance with model Kate Moss via a new TV documentary.

How much is he getting for the tell-all? A cool $100,000! That’s enough money to get him crack for one or two months! A source close to the deal says that “He has promised it will be a no-holds barred chat. Producers are hoping he’ll let them use a lot of film he and Kate shot on camcorders.”

As if she isn’t in enough trouble as it is; Britney Spears failed to turn up for her court-ordered deposition. She claims to be too sick to attend, claiming high anxiety as the cause. How convenient.

The singer was due to undergo questioning by ex-husband Kevin Federline’s lawyers in the custody battle for their sons. Britney’s friend-and-assistant Sam Lufti claims she was distressed by the media attention surrounding her court appearance.

He said: “She is sick, both physically and high anxiety. There are millions of people outside. It’s too much.”

A new date for Britney’s deposition has been chosen, but not been revealed. Her questioning, which isn’t expected to last longer than a day, is set to address her alleged drug use, her failure to follow court orders and her capabilities as a mother.

If I were Britney then I would suffer high anxiety about being questioned on my mothering abilities too.

Hmmm it seems beau of Charlotte Church is in trouble after being spotted behaving very drunkenly on a train after winning his recent Rugby Match. It is alleged that Gavin Henson and three of his pals were spotted hitting each other, vomiting and urinating. Nice. And to add insult to injury, when the onlooker complained, Henson called her a “fat c***”.

Charmed I’m sure. This behaviour has led to Henson being quizzed by the cops who met the star as he left the train at Cardiff station. His club has apologised on his behalf; but I have to say if I were him I would be more worried about the ear bashing I was going to get from the missus.

Charlotte has put her hubby on a complete booze ban over Christmas…I am assuming that’s after he got the nagging of his lifetime. She is said to have “expected more from him” and thinks he should be making a good impression. Too right.

Donna D’Errice and Nikki Sixx were in court recently to settle financial matters in their divorce. While some people would fight tooth and nail for some money, Donna just wants it all over with regardless if she gets any money or not.

The judge has expressed concern for Donna but both parties waved their rights to financial support. The former couple reached a settlement agreement on the rest of their finances and that all matters related to their son Frankie would be kept confidential.

Donna says that she was happy that it was over and that she was in the process of writing an autobiography. Oooh! Dirt!

Heather Mills calls the world’s rich and famous people snobs and she admits that she can’t imagine how a person can wish to have such great amounts of money without being stingy.

She, who herself is currently during a divorce in witch he asks for millions and millions of dollars, sees herself as a medieval chevalier, as a saint that has to be submitted to various tortures and sacrifices, like meeting and being friends with rich people, in order to achieve her goal of saving the world or whatever she things she is doing.

Is it just me, or the real snob here is Mills? In any press report you would read about their divorce you will find that Paul offered her about $50 million and she isn’t satisfied…she wants at least double. Of course of she would be faced with this information she would say the money she asks are for greater goods. I can only imagine the type of goods… I myself would be occupying my time with human rights fights if I had the latest cars, the fanciest house, maids and everything I might dream of.

Back in May, Celine Dion and her son Rene took the cover of Hello! Magazine. I vaguely remember thinking that her son was female and that he needs a haircut. But I digress.

The rap/rocker - who divorced the Baywatch star after a three month marriage last year - believes Anderson should hand back the ring now she has re-married. She should give the Kid his “Rock” back! Denise Richards did not occupy this house w/Sheen. She probably got a new home from the support she’s taking off Sheen, although if there is any justice in the courts, that will end soon. Richards, one of the biggest gold-diggers in Hollywood who also remains one of the most prevalent tellers of falsehoods about her ex is soon due to court. She has attempted to surreptitiously win Sheen back from Mueller; edited Mueller’s emails; refilled the same tired old 2 year old claims against Charlie in a last ditch attempt to ward off Sheen’s legal attempts to put an end to Denise’s nanny gate. Richards literally did not work in 2006, outside of having an affair with Richie Sambora, Heather Locklear’s ex. Her personal morals are on the bottom of the shoes she wears. Richards shared the home with her ex hubby Charlie Sheen for a little over a year, there must be some bad karma inside that home. Those two couldn’t be civil with each other if their lives depended on it.

Good for Kate Hudson. She has the right to choose and choose she should. Blaming a suicide attempt on a broken relationship is ignorant and infantile. Suicide is a psychological issue not a romantic issue. Her child does walk and he is fine just as he is. I too have a child just seven days older than hers and I STILL carry him and I STILL transport him in a stroller. After all his legs are much shorter than mine and he does tire on long walks…. I am glad to see she is raising her child and not rushing into another relationship. Obviously she is intelligent enough to move on when things are not moving in the right direction.
